Our Christmas Tree - Tregothnan Estate

We have had a real tree for quite a few years now. I love the look and smell of a real tree and it really is becoming a family tradition.  Both the girls ask every year "can we get our tree?" as soon as November fades away.

I love getting our welly boots, hats, gloves and scarfs on which are essentials for tree finding.  December is always full of festive fun and with limited weekends and James working we got our tree at the end of November.

We used to go to a local farm but last year I thought suddenly Tregothnan.co.uk the perfect place to get our tree and so we went back again this year.

Tucked away down long Cornish lanes you will find Tregothnan,  it really is like finding a pot of gold at the end of rainbow,  you suddenly come to a whole little world, a working Estate, church and little cottages dotted around with some in a small village.  Also a big grand mansion that is hidden out of view and gardens that open at times to public that are well worth visiting.

I have fond memories of Tregothnan as I grew up there,  my dad was the carpenter for the Estate and we lived in a cottage there.  We had the best childhood and so going back gave me that warm fuzzy feeling.  It also made me think back happily to our Christmas tree growing up, the workers were allowed to go and choose a real tree and I always remember getting tree needles in my socks!!

The weather was grey but it felt magical as the rain drops glistened on every tree like natures own fairy lights.

It takes quite a while to find "the tree" we all have different ideas but always find one we all love. Belle made sure we knew where it was amongst the others!!

I love the tree carts too and the staff are super friendly and helpful!

Once you have found your perfect tree go and have a look in the little shop selling Tregothnan tea, biscuits (which are yummy) and lots of other lovely things!
It really has a lovely Christmas feel and you can sit and have a free hot drink to warm you up!!
